Telecommunications Canned Messages

Have you ever wondered about what, or more accurately, who is the voice behind the canned messages after you dial, say, for example, a number that does not accept anonymous calls?

You know the one – the dulcet, somber tones of the female voice thanking you for using AT&T or any of a myriad of other messages provided by the telco.

American voice actress, Patricia Fleet, may have the most recognized intonation in the known universe. She has been the registered voice for baby bells AT&T and Verizon since 1981 and has even been featured on a segment of Nightline circa 1996.

Thanks to Prattle On, Boyo, now you can impress your co-workers with yet another useless factoid over water cooler chat!
