Stanley Cup Finals

Oorah!  The Flyers & Hawks are in the running for Lord Stanley.  It’s the sixth time in franchise history the Flyers are going to the finals, and, the first time since 1997.

Flyers eliminated the Habs Monday night 4-2 in Game 5 at home.  I expect Gagne & the boys to wallop Spanky Toews & the other junior mints in Game 1 set for Saturday, 5/29 @ 20:00 H EDT on NBC.  The rest of the schedule can be found here.

I have a theory… I will call it “the curse of the Hossa”. I wager that Chi-town will not win Lord Stanley’s cup

    • Could be given his track record, but for better or for worse, he signed an eight year contract last summer with the Hawks worth $62.8M. Guy doesn’t have very good playoff stats, but he did score an overtime goal that swung an entire series in the Hawks favor.

Frankly, I think the finals could go either way. Philly’s playoff performance has been solid, but not spectacular. And netminder Leighton seems to be hit or miss.
